Synnex, a Taiwan-based channel distributor of
ICT products, announced on June 17, 2010 that it has signed a distribution agreement
with HTC in Australia, according to the Central News Agency of Taiwan. Synnex
plans to start providing HTC mobile phones at its Australian channels from July
1, 2010.
Meanwhile, Synnex has also unveiled a plan to
establish 20 operation centers within the next two years, according to the
China Times. It is projected that Synnex will invest NT$6 billion (US$186.7
million; US$1=NT$32.2) in said expansion plan. One of the 20 operation centers
will be located in Sydney, Australia, while the other 19 centers will be
established in China. By the end of 2009, Synnex has already built five
operation centers in China, distributed in Shanghai, Nanjing, Beijing, Chengdu,
and Shenyang.
